Sutjeska Hobit
Four days combining Perućica primeval forest, Hrcavka River canyoning and Arabian horse riding above the Tara Canyon.
Sutjeska National Park is one of the last untouched corners of Europe — ancient forest, soaring peaks and mountain lakes that look like paintings. This 3-day arrangement gives you the full experience: from the highland meadows of Zelengora to the crystalline waters of Trnovačko, the most beautifully shaped lake in the Balkans.
Day one eases you in — a welcome dinner, a dip in the pool and the clean mountain air of Tjentište. Day two takes you by 4×4 terrain vehicle to Gornje and Donje Bare lakes on Zelengora mountain, with a panoramic stop at Borić Viewpoint and a visit to the Sutjeska WWII memorial. Day three is Trnovačko: a leisurely 1.5-hour hike to a heart-shaped alpine lake at 1,517 m, with Maglić (2,386 m — Bosnia's highest peak) watching over from the ridgeline.
All meals, accommodation at Green Villas Tjentište, guides and transport are included throughout. No experience required — just a willingness to walk, breathe and look.
Reach Gornje Bare (1,515 m) by terrain vehicle, then hike down to Donje Bare through meadows of wild herbs and wildflowers unique to this plateau.
A 1.5-hour hike up to a pristine alpine lake at 1,517 m, framed by the ridgeline of Maglić — Bosnia's highest peak. Crystal water, complete silence, unforgettable.
Stop at the Prijevor plateau (1,668 m) en route to Trnovačko for a sweeping view across the Perućica primeval forest and the distant ribbon of Skakavac waterfall.
All meals throughout your stay are cooked at Green Villas — authentic regional cuisine, poolside evenings, and a team that treats every guest like family.
Three days that build on each other — arrival and rest, then Zelengora, then Trnovačko. Each day leaves you wanting the next.
A gentle start — check in, breathe the mountain air and let the team take care of you. Tonight's dinner sets the tone for the days ahead.
The big day on Zelengora — off-road to the highlands, two lakes, a panoramic viewpoint and a WWII monument that stops everyone in their tracks.
The final day delivers the best view of the trip. A hike to the heart-shaped Trnovačko Lake, framed by the rocky summit of Maglić — Bosnia's highest point.
Trnovačko Lake was the most beautiful place I've ever seen. We hiked up in the morning mist and when the cloud lifted it just appeared — this perfectly shaped lake with Maglić behind it. The whole 3 days were wonderful but that moment alone was worth the trip.
We came with two families including kids aged 8 and 11. Everyone managed both hikes easily and the kids were obsessed with the terrain vehicle rides. The guides were fantastic with them — patient, enthusiastic, and full of stories about the park.
A really well-put-together arrangement. Day 1 feels almost too relaxed, but by Day 3 you're grateful for it — the hike to Trnovačko is genuinely stunning and you need the energy. Green Villas is cosy and the food is superb.
The WWII memorial on Day 2 caught us off guard — I knew nothing about it beforehand and it was incredibly moving. Our guide explained the whole battle. Honestly this is why you travel with a local team rather than doing it yourself.
More adventures waiting in the wild heart of Bosnia.
Four days combining Perućica primeval forest, Hrcavka River canyoning and Arabian horse riding above the Tara Canyon.
Bosnia's most demanding 4-day mountaineering circuit — summit Maglić and Volujak before descending into Perućica's ancient jungle.
A one-day guided hike to two pristine alpine lakes and the Borić panoramic viewpoint in Sutjeska National Park.
