All-Inclusive Bosnia Holiday
Eight days and eight excursions based in Sutjeska — rafting, rainforest, lakes, horse riding and Via Ferrata. Everything included.
Two weeks. Eight destinations. One guide from start to finish. This tour takes you through the full arc of the western Balkans — from the Adriatic coast at Dubrovnik through the mountains and monasteries of Herzegovina, into the wild heart of Sutjeska National Park, then north to Sarajevo and back down through Mostar and Neum to the sea.
Days 1–2 open with Dubrovnik: the city walls, Lokrum Island, dinner above the old town. Then Trebinje — a quiet city overlooked by most tourists — for wine tasting at Tvrdoš Monastery and the Museum of Old Herzegovina. Days 4–7 move into Sutjeska: a jeep safari through Perućica primeval forest, the heart-shaped Trnovačko Lake, Zelengora alpine lakes, Tara River rafting and a zip line over the Drina. Days 8–9 bring Sarajevo, the cable car up Trebević and the traditional village of Lukomir. Then Mostar, Međugorje, Blagaj's tekija on the river spring, and finally two days on the Adriatic at Neum before returning to Dubrovnik airport.
The same guide stays with you throughout. All accommodation, meals, transport and entrance fees are included. No prior experience required for any activity.
The tour opens and closes at the Adriatic. Day 1 walks the famous city walls above the old town. Days 12–13 give you two full days on the beach at Neum — Bosnia's only stretch of sea coast, less crowded than anywhere in Croatia.
The wildest section of the tour: a jeep safari through Perućica primeval forest, the heart-shaped Trnovačko Lake, Zelengora's twin alpine lakes, and 25 km of Tara River whitewater rafting with a zip line over the Drina Canyon.
Two days in Sarajevo: the Baščaršija old city, the Trebević cable car and a day trip to Lukomir — an Ottoman village still lived in year-round at 1,495 m — plus the tekija at the source of the Buna River in Blagaj.
The same professional guide accompanies you for all 14 days — no handoffs, no changing contacts. They know the history of every city, the geology of every canyon and the names of the peaks at every viewpoint. All meals, transport and entrance fees are included throughout.
Day order may shift with seasonal conditions. Timings are indicative. The same guide travels with you for all 14 days — no changeovers between destinations.
Transfer from Dubrovnik Airport to villas above the old town. Your guide introduces the city and its history over dinner at an authentic local restaurant. The evening belongs to Dubrovnik — the stone streets, the Adriatic light, the city walls glowing after dark.
Morning walk along the Dubrovnik city walls — the best overview of the old town, with Adriatic views on one side and terracotta rooftops on the other. Ferry to Lokrum Island for a coastal lunch. Afternoon: check out and drive to Trebinje, arriving in time for coffee on the summer terrace of the old town.
A slower, cultural day in Trebinje — one of the most beautiful small cities in the western Balkans. Morning: Tvrdoš Monastery with premium wine tasting from the monks' own cellars. Afternoon: the Museum of Old Herzegovina and free time to explore the old town at your own pace. Dinner in the summer garden.
A two-hour drive into the heart of Bosnia. Check in to Green Villas in Tjentište, inside Sutjeska National Park. Afternoon: visit the Battle of Sutjeska memorial and museum, then a leisurely walk or bike ride along the river. Riverside picnic. Evening around an outdoor fire.
Early breakfast at 07:30. A jeep and photo safari through Perućica — Europe's last primeval rainforest — followed by a hike to the heart-shaped Trnovačko Lake at 1,517 m. Three to four hours at the lakeshore: swimming in the clear mountain water, a packed lunch, and Maglić, Bioč and Volujak reflected in the surface above you. Evening dinner and fire socialization at the villa.
Gornje and Donje Bare — Zelengora's twin glacial lakes at 1,515 and 1,475 m. The plateau is crossed with meadows of medicinal herbs and glacial valleys. Borić viewpoint delivers a long panorama across the Tara Canyon. Lunch at the viewpoint. Return for dinner at the villa.
Transfer to the rafting camp. A full-day descent of the Tara River Canyon — 25 km of rapids through Europe's deepest gorge, all equipment and guides provided. Natural setting lunch by the river. Afternoon: zip line over the Drina Canyon. Overnight in wooden riverside cabins — a different kind of night after days at the villa.
Breakfast at the camp, then transfer to Sarajevo. Check in to city centre apartments. Afternoon: Baščaršija — the old Ottoman bazaar at the heart of the city — with its copper workshops, mosques, cafés and centuries of layered history. Evening: the Trebević Mountain cable car for a 15-minute ride to a panoramic view over the whole city. Dinner with live music.
Drive to Bjelašnica Olympic Mountain and then to Lukomir — an Ottoman-era village at 1,495 m still lived in year-round, one of the most unspoiled traditional settlements in Bosnia. Traditional lunch with the villagers. Return via Bjelašnica to the Bosna River Springs — a serene karst source flanked by ancient trees. Peaceful dinner in Sarajevo.
Drive south to the Buna River spring at Blagaj, where a 16th-century tekija (dervish monastery) sits at the base of a cliff above a clear blue karst source. Lunch at the riverside restaurant. Arrive in Mostar — check in, walk the old stone Stari Most bridge and the Kujundžiluk bazaar. Dinner in the old town.
Morning excursion to Međugorje — one of the most visited pilgrimage sites in the world, drawing visitors of all backgrounds to the hill above the town. Return to Mostar for a free afternoon in the old town: swimming holes below the bridge, local restaurants, coffee on a terrace above the river. Dinner at an old town restaurant.
Drive to Neum — Bosnia & Herzegovina's only stretch of Adriatic coastline, a short corridor between Croatian territory that gives the country its access to the sea. Check in to a hotel on the water. Afternoon on the beach. Dinner at sunset with Adriatic views — a very different setting from the mountains of the past week.
A full, unscheduled day on the Adriatic. Morning swim with Adriatic sea views at breakfast. Beach, sunbathing, local seafood at a harbour restaurant, and free time to explore the town and coastline. Dinner with Adriatic specialties in the evening — a well-earned rest after two weeks of moving.
Final breakfast by the sea. Check out of the hotel and transfer to Dubrovnik Airport — the same city where the journey began, now two weeks and two countries later. The arrangement concludes here. Safe travels.
Unforgettable two weeks. OutdoorBosnia curated the tour to perfection — every day brought something new, from Dubrovnik's enchanting streets to Trebinje's monasteries and then the raw wildness of Sutjeska. The guide made every place make sense in a way a guidebook never could. Seamlessly blends history, nature and adventure.
A harmonious blend of history, nature and adventure. The meticulous planning shows — nothing felt rushed, nothing felt like filler. Lukomir village and Blagaj were the unexpected highlights for me. The Adriatic days at the end were a perfect way to decompress before flying home. Luxurious accommodation throughout.
Two weeks of perfect relaxation immersed in the cultural wonders of Dubrovnik, the charm of Trebinje and the natural beauty of Sutjeska — an unforgettable odyssey. The Tara rafting was the highlight for our group, but the whole trip was expertly curated. I can't think of a single thing I would change.
