Zelengora Lakes & Trnovačko Lake
Three days combining Zelengora alpine lakes, the heart-shaped Trnovačko Lake and full Bosnian hospitality in Sutjeska NP.
Sutjeska National Park is one of the few places in Europe where a family can spend four days and have a genuinely different adventure on each one. No experience required for any of it — just a willingness to be outside and try things.
Day one takes you on two wheels along 22 km of flat mountain path beside the Sutjeska River, ending with a double zip line crossing above the confluence of the Sutjeska and Drina rivers. Day two is a jeep and photo safari through the highland viewpoints above Perućica, all the way to the Prijevor plateau with sunset views of Bosnia's highest peak. Day three climbs to the Zelengora alpine lakes — two pristine mountain lakes at 1,515 m, a panoramic viewpoint and a visit to the Sutjeska WWII memorial on the way back. Day four, breakfast and departure.
All meals, accommodation at Green Villas Tjentište, guides and transport are included throughout. The pace is relaxed. The activities are varied enough that even the hardest-to-please family members find something that's theirs.
A flat riverside ride through national park forest, finishing with a double zip line crossing above the confluence of the Sutjeska and Drina rivers.
20 km of off-road driving through highland viewpoints above Perućica — stopping at Beškita and Dragoš Sedlo before reaching the Prijevor plateau at sunset.
Gornje and Donje Bare at 1,515 m, the Borić panoramic viewpoint and a WWII memorial that puts the whole national park in context — all in one day.
Three nights at Green Villas Tjentište with pool, all meals cooked on site and a team that genuinely enjoys making families feel at home in the national park.
Four days, four completely different activities. Each day is self-contained — good for families who want variety without having to plan anything.
A gentle start on two wheels through national park forest, then a zip line over one of Bosnia's most dramatic river confluences. The afternoon is yours.
No walking required — today the terrain vehicle does it all. 20 km of off-road driving across the park's most dramatic viewpoints, ending on the Prijevor plateau with Maglić above and Perućica below.
The hike day — up to Zelengora's two alpine lakes by terrain vehicle, then on foot between them and to the Borić viewpoint. One of the most beautiful days in the Balkans, and one of the most accessible.
Breakfast from 07:00. Depart at your own pace. An additional night at Green Villas is available at a 30% discount if you'd like to stay another day.
Our children are 7 and 10 and they talked about the zip line for weeks afterwards. The cycling was genuinely manageable for them — flat and alongside the river the whole way. Day 3 on Zelengora was the most beautiful landscape we've ever walked through as a family.
We came as two couples — no kids — and it was perfect for us too. The jeep safari on Day 2 was a highlight I didn't expect. The guides clearly know every corner of the park and the viewpoints above Perućica were extraordinary.
Well-designed four days that never feel rushed. The variety is the point — one day you're cycling, the next you're in a jeep, the next you're hiking. Green Villas is a great base and the food is wonderful. Highly recommend for families or mixed groups.
The WWII memorial stop on Day 3 surprised us — our guide explained the Sutjeska battle in a way that was moving and educational. The kids asked questions for the rest of the evening. That kind of context is what makes a trip like this more than just activities.
More adventures waiting in the wild heart of Bosnia.
